The Lower Niobrara Natural Resources District (LNNRD) is a local government agency responsible for managing and protecting natural resources across north-central Nebraska. The District covers approximately 1.7 million acres spanning Boyd, Holt, Knox, Keya Paha, and Rock counties.
LNNRD works with landowners, producers, and communities on groundwater management, water quality protection, and conservation programs. This includes chemigation inspections, nitrogen management, static water level monitoring, and tree planting programs. The District also administers cost-share programs to support conservation practices and efficient water use. Our work focuses on practical, locally driven solutions that help sustain the region’s natural resources for current and future use.
