Billing and Payment
West Knox Rural Water System has implemented a new billing, metering, and payment system designed to improve accuracy, transparency, and customer convenience.
Meters will be read during the last week of each month. Statements will be generated and mailed on or around the 1st of the following month. Payments will be due on the 15th of each month. Payments received after the 15th will be subject to a $10.00 late fee.

Customers may now take advantage of several convenient payment methods:

- Online payments
- Automatic withdrawals
- Paperless billing
Payments may still be mailed or dropped off at the West Knox Rural Water office.
Beacon Metering System
We are now using the Beacon Metering System, which allows all meters to be read remotely. This system provides accurate, real-time readings and improves efficiency across the entire water system.
EyeOnWater – Real-Time Usage Monitoring
Customers now have access to EyeOnWater, an online platform that allows real-time monitoring of water usage. This tool eliminates the need to manually read meters and provides up-to-date consumption data at any time.
Water Rate Format
As part of this transition, billing has changed from $4.00 per 1,000 gallons to $0.004 per gallon.
Important: The rate itself has not changed.
$4.00 per 1,000 gallons is equal to $0.004 per gallon.
This adjustment simply changes how the rate appears on statements. Billing is now calculated down to the individual gallon, allowing for more precise and transparent charges each billing period.
